Compressor keeps going out on the freezer

Bought this at Lowe's in 2015, Compressor stopped in 2018 but was under the store warranty so they fixed it. Now in 2020 the freezer is acting up again and I think it is the compressor again. I have reached out to Frigidaire and I'm waiting to hear back. They claim there is a 10 year warranty on their products. I can't spend $1,600 on a refrigerator every 3 years. Let's see what Frigidaire plans to do about it.

issue with ice maker

I have had my refrigerator for 6 years.I actually bought all 4 appliances from the collection to match. I had the ice maker looked at several times at the beginning. Like everyone else, it froze up. I had a warranty and the repair people told me it was a poor design and there was no fix. I have to shut off the ice maker so it doesn't freeze solid. I had to have the panel changed once too. Over the past year, the back of the refrigerator seems to be rusting from the inside out. I attached a picture. There is no leak in those lines!!I am starting to redo my kitchen. A week before beginning the renovation my dishwasher stopped working. Due to all this I am now looking at new appliances. I am not looking at Frigidaire due to the refrigerator issue and design. I do believe that appliances should last more than 6 years. I originally go the 5 year warranties also.

Ice Maker doesn't make ice, just problems!

I have had this Refrigerator for 5 years now, and for the most part it works well. What doesn't work is the Ice maker. About every 3 months, the ice maker freezes up and stops making ice. This forces us to turn the ice maker off, let it thaw out, and then it will start working again. However, now the ice maker drawer has frozen shut and we are unable to open it at all. I would NOT recommend buying this product, and will most likely purchase other brands in the future.

Total junk from the beginning. The ice maker broke about 6 months in. Got it replaced for $200- still doesn™€™t work. There™€™s a leak somewhere because there™€™s ice accumulating in the back of the refrigerator. The freezer light/plastic cover broke off about a year in. Hard to clean. Spend a little more- get something better.

Troubled item in many ways

I LOVED the design and space of this refrigerator but the ice maker has stopped working multiple times and has had to get repaired, the front control panel only displays portions of the numbers, the door alarms have NEVER worked and due to the french door design one or the other door stays open very easily and is not noticeable. Also the door shelves and front bottom of the refrigerator crack/break VERY easily!

I bought this refrigerator in 2015 in a set with the gas stove and microwave. I bought the matching dishwasher about 6 months ago. The ice maker was a problem from the beginning. It makes a lot of noise and periodically stops working. The repairmen tell us that it is made of plastic and that is the problem. I don't know if that is standard or not, just telling you what they said. We have had this repaired at least 4 times. The other issue, and this will definitely prevent me from ever buying a Frigidaire refrigerator again, is the constant noise. The is always a wirring noise and very frequent loud pops that sound like a drive by shooting. You WILL NOT get used to this noise. I am working from home since COVID and it has about driven me crazy! It has made the noise since we purchased it. The repairmen say it is a common complaint. It has steadily gotten worse over the years and being at home full time vs only a few hours a day, I now know that this is a very steady noise that happens through out the day, several times an hour. We bought the extended warranty, thank goodness. I would suggest you do the same or buy another brand if possible. All of that being said, it does keep food cool in fridge and frozen in freezer. Adjustable, sliding shelves are super great. The stove and microwave have been issue free. I actually LOVE both of them. The dishwasher is relatively new, but also no issues.

Horrible - Do NOT purchase

Purchased all new Frigidaire appliances (refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher). All are very pretty!! But quality and efficiency...The ice maker is horrible, freezes up and makes a loud humming noise. I called the number listed and the same number given on other reviews, I was told that since I didn't buy the extended warranty, they recommend having a technician take a look at it, but it would be my expense (makes sense to me). I informed the gentleman this is a clearly a known issue, he said it isn't. So I asked, even though several complained about the same issue with the ice maker (makes no sense to me!)?? I was told I didn't purchase the extended warranty so there isn't anything they can do. Don't waste your time purchasing this item and if you have, don't waste your time calling if you didn't buy the extended warranty. Wish we would've read the reviews before buying this product. No more Frigidaire products will be purchased by me.

I wish these reviews were available before purchasing. All I see is icemaker icemaker icemaker. And guess what my issue is? IceMaker! I wasn't even a year in before having troubles. I didnt even get a year out of it and this means i have a manual ice ice tray and container in the freezer that needs managed separetly each and every day, twice a day. The way I see it, I paid extra for features that you can get a higher purchase price for, and not deliver on. I really feel like I was had. Also, the freeze handle wont stay on. I need a special tool from you to screw it back on and I did not receive a tool with the refridgerator. I am a single mom, on furlough like the rest of the world riht now, and while I finally have time to address this, I certainly don't have the financial means to do so. It seems to me this product is faulty. When my car has a faulty part, they send me a request to bring the car in to have it fixed, at a time convenient for me, and at no cost. I believe each of us in this list shoud expect the same from you, Fridgedaire. I am very unhappy and disappointed.

Poor Ice Maker Design!

The ice maker goes through cycles where the ice in the bin melts and each morning when I go in to the kitchen there™€™s water all down the door and puddles in my kitchen floor where the ice has been melting. Then the ice maker goes through a cycle where it stops making ice for approximately 2-3 weeks. (This is when I have to buy bagged ice at the convenient store). Then it will start back making ice for a few days, maybe a week or so, then the cycle starts all over again. If someone is thinking about buying this refrigerator, turn & run!!

Horrible experience with icemaker

I have been a frigidaire fan for years and my kitchen has mostly frigidaire products. Since I have purchased the 26.7 Cu. French Door Refrigerator 2 years ago I have had issues with the icemaker. My product is currently under the extended warranty. I have had at least 4 service people come and fix my icemaker. It will work for a little and then it stops. Two days ago another repair man fixed or attempted to fix my icemaker. My icemaker still does not work.I attempted to call frigidaire warranty and no one would answer and the phone hung up. I attempted to contact the repair company and they were busy and no one answered. I still have no ice.Can anyone help me with this problem or facilitate me getting a better refrigerator. I am completely frustrated.

It sweats on the back and freezes the water line

Bought this 5 years ago and the ice maker has quit working a few times but the water dispenser kept working. Then the other day the water dispenser quit working and the ice maker quit working. Had a plumber check the water lines and they were all ok. When he pulled the refrigerator out there was a chunk of ice frozen around the water lines on the back near the top and it was rusted. He checked the lines and they are not leaking. It is freezing cold on the area behind the ice maker and condenses and freezes. The fridge is good except for this and it is not doing the floor under it any good.

The refrigerator is nice but don™€™t expect ice from the ice maker. We have had Sears warranty work on the ice maker so many times the whole ice maker has been replaced. It finally worked after that for a few months. Now it has stopped again. We have spent more money on warranty and repairs and still don™€™t have ice. Will never purchase anything Frigidaire again

While we've been mostly happy with the refrigerator and freezer, the ice maker has given us nothing but headaches. Every couple of months the housing and fan become frozen in ice. Defrosting it is very time consuming. In reading the reviews it's obviously a big issue with this model.

Ice Ice, Maybe?

Gotta say, I'm a bit heated writing this review...a temperature I have in common with the food that's currently in what I can most accurately call my DEfrigerator? We invested in this product for a rental property, and while I appreciate the lifelong friendships it's allowed me to forge with the appliance repair community, the repeated failures of the fridge have cost me more than the appliance itself (which, in fairness, wasn't particularly inexpensive.) We've become a two-hair dryer household thanks to this fridge, because the ice maker requires one about as frequently as my wife - who is lovely, by the way - just not a fan of sharing any of her appliances with our appliances. We've had to replace the ice maker completely three times now. I worry that the fourth one thinks I'M the cold one, but it's just hard to get attached because I just know it's going to leave me after a year, too. But seriously, it's apparently ACTUALLY hard to get the ice maker attached without the seal busting and wreaking all kinds of havoc in an environment that I imagine should usually be pretty chill (the lights go out in there when the door shuts, right?) In conclusion, all anyone really wants from this appliance and the company that sells it is a unit that won't stop, refrigerates and listens. And perhaps a little ice ice, maybe?

Ice maker woes...

After owning this refrigerator for 3 years, we have some observations. Firstly we like its appearance and cabinet design, very convenient with the bottom freezer and the french doors, the in-door ice and water, etc.But as many other owners have seen, a poor design on the ice maker itself. It is prone to ice buildup within the air handler which renders it useless until you thaw it out. By thawing I mean manually, by removing the ice storage bin and running a hair dryer to rid the air handler fan and evaporator/defrost assembly of built up ice. This at best was a temporary fix. It does get worse with time to the point that it becomes ridiculous even for the most patient person!So after some investigating, we found that some owners who are DIYers replaced the air handler with a new redesigned one. We too replaced it, and after a week of use, so far so good. FWIW, the replacement will cost $50+- and an hour or 2 to put it in. We've been very happy with Frigidaire products through the years, and never had any issues with quality, but now we will think twice and compare other brands.

Bought whole suite for new kitchen and have had nothing but problems. Dishwasher leaked. Stove makes who house smell like gas and fridge makes weird noises and constantly freezes. All items have only been in use for 8 months will spend the extra money next time for better built products.

We bought our FIRST ice/water dispenser fridge... putting trust in Frigidaire. Seems to be a mistake on our part. The ice maker never dispensed ice efficiently (the ice is too large/irregularly shaped for the dispenser size). It too forever to get one cup. We has to start opening the door and getting it by hand. Why spend all the money??? After about 2 to 3 months of purchase, the ice maker stopped working all together. We have just gone without ice. Why spend all the money???We now purchase ice and keep it in the freezer. Why spend all the money???After being overly frustrated, I made time to contact customer service and read reviews on the customer support page. The ICE MAKER is a known issue.... clearly identified by a majority of owners to-date. Why has Frigidaire not heard their customers and fixed the ice maker flaw? Why have they not come up with a better model to replace the original ice maker?? Why spend all the money??? I am waiting 24hrs so that I can spend another 30minutes of my life talking to a CSR to hopefully get a technician to come look at it. From the reviews... this is pointless. A technician will not fix the problem... it will need to be the company. Recognize the design flaw and fix it. If not, you will lose customers. I will not purchase another Frigidaire product moving forward (unless the issue is resolved). Why spend all the money???

Ever since my hardware store delivered and installed the fridge for us, i noticed the fridge water was never cold. my wife ignored it because she was happy just having the fridge and didn't want to hassle with the return. Good size fridge, terrible ice machine...

We bought this fridge as an upgrade from a smaller Frigidaire. We loved the idea of having and ice machine and water machine attached so we wouldn't have to make the ice our selves like our last one. The fridge it self is good, great size holds just about everything in in. However the ice machine is terrible and at this point doesn't work. It never really worked well from the beginning and a few months after having it the fan iced up and now no longer makes ice. I have researched this problem online and have found it to be very common from this machine. So rather than spend hundreds of dollars for a tech to come out and fix a problem that will be back in just a couple months I have disconnected the power to the ice machine all together. It's a great size fridge so I hate to give it such a bad review but If you are going to drop $1500+ on a fridge that advertises all these nice features... It would be nice if they worked. Maybe if Frigidaire wants to send a tech out as a courtesy to fix it I could give it a higher review but as it stands I would suggest staying away from this thing. I would either research a different . model or go with a different brand entirely.

I bought this refrigerator about a year ago. I've been happy with it until now. The icemaker stopped working. As suggested in the manual, I replaced the water filter (at $45 a pop!) and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

We bought a brand new home in December of 2017 and this refrigerator was included in the appliance package. As of February 2018 we have had the ice maker replaced twice, as well as the thermostat. Each time a tech came for repairs they tried to sell me an extended warranty @ a significant cost. Shouldn™€™t a brand new, costly appliance last more than one year? If this fridge doesn™€™t make it past 12 months, there is absolutely no reason why I would EVER purchase another Frigidaire product again, let alone recommend one. Let™€™s hope I™€™m done booking repairs, taking time off of work for said repairs, and going without a functioning refrigerator! I can™€™t imagine being more disappointed.

We bought our refrigerator back in July & absolutely love it! It has more than enough room for all our food & I love how the freezer is divided up. We use the top pull out shelf in the freezer just for our meats. It totally meets our needs & even exceeds them.

We purchased this in 2013 for the new home we were building. We've have nothing but problems with the ice maker and dispenser. Not even a year ago we bought a new ice maker and now it's not working. Don't ever buy an ice maker located in the refrigerator section.

Bought our fridge 2 years ago. Originally was very pleased with the purchase. Not anymore. One year after purchase, the ice maker stopped functioning.Luckily it was still under warranty and was repaired at no cost. One year after the original repair, it has stopped functioning again. The fridge is no longer under warranty and I will have to pay to have it repaired. From my research it sounds like this is a big time issue with these units. Not very happy, spent a lot of money and thought I was getting a quality product. I would NOT purchase a Frigidaire.

Bought this unit at Lowes in Jan 2017. Behind-the-door Ice maker stopped working near the end of Dec 2017 (luckily still under warranty). Probably should have anticipated it after reading all of the reviews. Customer service was VERY nice when I called, repair visit was set up with a local company. Apparently it's a known issue with the insulation around the ice maker allowing warm air in which causes ice to form around the fan, freezing it, thus stopping the production of ice. Technician installed a new "kit" that he said should address the problem. Apparently this issue is common with units built in 2017, which replaced an issue with this model built in years previous (based on online research) Potential buyer beware, the issue is noted multiple times in previous reviews.Storage arrangement is ok, the "adjustable" shelves don't really buy much room when adjusting them. Lighting is dull and putting anything in front of it only makes it dimmer. Model could use even just one more light and it would be a significant improvement.All-in-all, it does the job, keeping food cold (or frozen). The ice maker failure (and potential repeated failures outside of warranty) would make me reconsider purchasing this unit given the opportunity to go back in time.

This is the second one of these we had to get. The first one had to be returned because the ice maker kept breaking. Lowes replaced refrigerator with a new one and we are now having to have Frigidaire send a repair company out for the 2nd time to fix the ice maker and the unit is less than a year old. Then the appliance repair companies they use are extremely unreliable. The current company had us waiting all morning during their 8-12:30 time frame they gave us to call at 10 to let us know they couldn't make it that day after we rescheduled other appointments for them to come. Not happy with Frigidaire at all!!

Ice Maker Problems: Another Lemon

For the 1st 6 months, this fridge had a nifty water feature. Like others, water constantly leaked out of the ice dispenser, onto the drip tray, and when you'd open the door, it would spill onto the floor. At first, I thought my wife was being careless, and leaving pieces of ice that missed her glass on the tray. But then one day, I opened the door and was met with a stream of water pouring out of the ice dispenser. Next, I decided to turn off the ice maker, so we could put a dent in the frozen block of ice cubes. Oh, the other big problem with this fridge: either because of the aforementioned leak coming from the ice maker, or because the ice bin does not stay cold enough, all of the ice cubes freeze together. So you're just left with a giant block of ice cubes that won't dispense. Then you have to reach in and grab a hand full, like you had to do back in the 80's. If the poor quality control wasn't enough, the practicality of this thing is also lacking. They really should sell refrigerators at grocery stores, so you can see if all your food will actually fit. At the appliance store, the fridge looked fine. It had 4 adjustable shelves on one side, a smaller one on the other. Nice spacious drawers, a plenty of door storage. But then you actually try and put food in. Shelf on its smallest size, can't even fit a carton of eggs. It's probably only good for pies (and not pizza either, the shelves aren't wide enough to fit a pizza box, as the brackets interfere. So you raise it up a notch. Now the eggs fit. But there's so much wasted space, and yet a soda (or pop/coke depending where you're from) can won't fit. So you raise it up again, and more wasted space (but not for those fancy fridge packs they make, you're going to have to raise it up again). And you're not going to get a beer bottle to fit on any of the shelves unless you remove one. Then on the left side, you can fit a 2 liter or wine bottle, as long as it's not under the ice maker. But then you're not fitting much on the shelf above it. The door will fit 2 gallons of milk or juice, but only if you remove one of the door shelves. You get the idea. They say it's 18 cu ft, but I'd be surprised if you could get any more than 12 cu ft of food in there. I'm not sure what actually products (if any) the designers used to come up with this layout, but it wasn't anything sold in America. The freezer drawer is exactly what it sounds like, a drawer that gets below freezing. It has a handy sliding basket.I honestly wish you could take a test drive on appliances, because I would not have drove off the lot in this fridge. Can I have a do over? You can have this fridge back.On a lighter note, at least my upright Frigidaire freezer (that I purchased at the same time) is treating me well.
