Disappointing Quality from Expensive LG Fridge

I purchased an LG refrigerator six years ago expecting a reliable long-lasting appliance. Unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing. During the five-year warranty period I had to schedule three service calls due to issues with the freezer not functioning properly and the ice maker failing. Once the warranty expired the refrigerator required a new compressor which only lasted a year. I contacted LG service again paying $399 for repairs. After three visits I was informed that the refrigerator is not repairable. Its incredibly frustrating that such an expensive appliance barely lasted six years. I expected better quality and reliability from LG. Based on my experience I cannot recommend this product.

Not an LG FRIDGE FAN 9/7/2024

Very disappointed. Fridge worked fine for 6 years. Then the compressor took a dump. Apparently this is not unusual for LGs with the linear compressor. LG would fix for a $500 flat fee but only warranty for 90 days. Doesnt say much about their confidence in their repairs.

I was not very happy with the people I spoke with on the phone or that I had to pay for the repair even though my compressor was under warranty and their is law suits for this exact issue. I had to wait 5 days to get someone to my house and I lost hundreds if not $1000 in food that went bad in my freezer and fridge and was not offered any compensation for it. However the only saving grace was the technician who came to my house was amazing. Very knowledgeable and experienced completed the job well and answered all my questions and concerns.

Lots of space and great design of space

We bought this in 2018 and have no regrets. The compressor just went out but it was covered by the original warranty so there wasnt a problem. We love the space this appliance gives us and the design of the compartments. The ice maker/water dispenser works perfectly and we are more than satisfied. All in all a very good purchase.

Junk service and refrigerator

Fridge compressor

I bought this fridge 6 years ago. No issues until the compressor just quit. No warning no symptoms of an issue. The temp reading on the screen never changed to say the fridge wasnt staying up to temp. A bit misleading as far as Im concerned.

Ive had the refrigerator it has a lot of space as for the freezer part. The too part has plenty of space as far as food but not so much as drinks especially if you have 2 liter bottles or a gallon of milk. Also my ice maker stopped working so I have to have someone come fix it luckily Im still under warranty.

Tooooo long to repair

My refrigerator had to have the board and compressor replaced at 3 years. It took 2 months to get it fixed. The warranty company was the big delay. When I called LG it took about 2 weeks to get it fixed. That repair man was great

Weve had this LG since Sept. 2020. We love the side by side features and the freezer. The bottom line is its extremely independence. We dont know if its going to run for 3 weeks or 3 months. Weve had 3 compressors installed. The last tech put a large scratch/deny in it when it was moved in/out against the countertop.

Horrible warranty service

I bought the extended warranty for the refrigerator and have called them out at least once a month since august 2022. Every time they come out the ice maker works 1-2 weeks and broken again. They have replaced everything on the refrigerator and still the ice maker doesnt work. They gave a lemon policy that they Do NOT honor
