Ok until it started to rust after 4 years

I bought this washing machine in 2020. It worked great until 2024 when I started to notice random orange spots on some of my white clothes. Later I discovered rust underneath the top of the machine right above the wash tub. After some research I found out that there were other customers that had the same issue with this machine and there was a class action lawsuit filed against LG back in 2018 that was later dismissed. Apparently LG claims rust issues with th machine are cosmetic and blames consumers for inadequate care for the machine. I should mention that I maintain appliances until they stop working and have never had an issue like this with a washing machine before. I called LG and asked what my options were to remedy this issue and I was told that since it was out of warranty I could pay $350 up front to have them send a repair person to take a look at it. I declined and sent an email to the President of LG. The representative from the Presidents office said she could only offer me a code for a 15 discount on a future purchase which I refused. I already own other LG appliances tv dryer and I will never purchase another LG product again. It was very disappointing to know that LG refuses to acknowledge the manufacturing defect with this machine.

If I could I would give this a zero rating. Customer service is non-existent. less than 4 years and the washer started to exhibit rust on the outer cabinet. It has been transferring stains onto our clothes. Per request I sent a picture of the rust to customer service. They have ignored a number of follow-ups from me. I assume they believe that after 4+ years the customer should expect to purchase a new washer. I may have to purchase a new one but it wont be an LG.

little over 2 years I purchased this washing machine from home depot I did fall in love with it because you advertised on the machine is so quite but in fact this was false advertisement the machine is so so so loud since day one I did contact your customer service a few months ago and I was willing to buy another one similar like the one I previously had but the answer was no contact home Depot which I did and they told me contact LG I am sick and tired of this noisy washing machine can I exchange it to front load machine and pay you the difference

I purchased a washer and dryer set. Within a couple months the dryer was acting up. About a year ago the washer started making noises not draining properly and turning off in the middle of cycle. I contacted my warranty support HA it was a joke They wanted to charge my $475 to come out and inspect what the problem was. I informed them I was not aware of the fee during the time of purchase they stated I should have read the fine print and could not help if I did not provide a card so they can bill for the $475

We purchased this washer almost 3 years ago we love it. 2 years ago we purchased an LG PREMIUM CARE PLAN for extended warranty. Mid August 2024 I called in to LG PREMIUM CARE PLAN to report a Crack in the top loader door. My wife started to hear a binding noise coming from the right hand rear part of the door where the hinge line is located. 2 weeks later a crack about 2 appeared in the left hand rear corner of the door. When I called it in they said thats not covered referred me to LG Customer Service. Long story short after some haggling they agreed to replace the door. Then the zinger was that told me LG would come out replace it the service call was $385.60 which I had to pay on the phone. I asked why it was so extremely high thry said that is our rate no matter how long it takes. Repair man arrives approx 1 week later part was shipped to me. Really nice guy very pleasant professional. It literally takes him 10 minutes at most to replace the door. I said heard the noise on the right hand side of the hinge line but it cracked on the left. I asked him directly if this is a common repetitive problem he said yes we replace a bunch of them. I think its so wrong that LG knows they have a systematic problem granted they didnt charge for the door but they sock me for almost $400 for a outrageous service call that should have been ZERO. Hope they dont bury this review because this was not good customer service

I only give one star because the 1k warranty I paid for came into use. The mechanic that came to my house was smart and a great technician but extremely rude. When he called me to confirm I was home he hung up on me in the middle of our conversation. I get that your day might be tough but youre working a job just like I do and I never speak to people like that ever. I hope my warranty gets paid through a different company next time. You wanted my honest opinion and this is it. The service was horrible.

Our experience has been mostly positive with solving most issues except for one. We went from a front load machine to this LG wash machine and mostly satisfied with the wash machine. The washer is large enough for a few blankets which it good. It is easy to load in my opinion. One of the tips on loading a large load or blankets is to balance the load equally all around basin or sometimes it will rock in spin cycle. If you are 5 feet tall you may need a stool to grab out the finished load to transfer to dryer its deep. We purchased the washer in 2022 we purchased an extended warranty. The only issue we have had that the warranty company will not cover the wash machine lid. A few months ago it started popping upon opening on one side. Its a loud annoying cracking/pop sound that sometimes can be intermittent. But still everybody likes a quiet working machine right? Mostly satisfied with our purchase just wish the lid worked properly.

Poor Quality Parts Pricey Repair

We purchased this washer in June of 2021 and we had to replace it less than 3 years later due to the fact that multiple parts had failed and it would cost more to fix than purchasing a new unit. After the warranty expired it started leaking and we had to replace a part then a year later the wash plate and the gear housing broke. The machine worked well while it was functional but the quality of the product was not good.

I purchased this appliance 5 years ago. Mine is a single occupant home. I probably wash 2 small loads a week. This machine now needs all components other than the motor replaced. This has been confirmed by your texh after an onsite diagnostic visit. In the course of my life I have purchased use washers that outperformed this machine. Service tech is terrific However I wont purchase another poor performing inferior LG product. Honest enough?

Major Design Flaw

My LG washer is a lesson in planned obsolescence. While the machine is over 4 years old it has had minimal use. Nevertheless it has a fundamental design flaw that is so expensive to repair that a new machine is almost the same price as the repair. I have communicated with LG to request that the warranty period be waived and a replacement panel be provided. I would pay for the service call. Apparently LG does not stand behind its products in a meaningful way.

Faulty control panel - common problem

When it works its good. But Ive only owned it for 3 years and for the past 365 days of year 3 it more often than not doesnt turn on. The service tech said its a common problem and the top control panel of my washer needs to be replaced. I have an extended warranty and additional coverage from Lowes and have tried getting a covered repair done but the service tech scheduled to come out were no shows and are unresponsive.

I bought an LG washing machine seven years ago. The transmission went out and it was going to cost me over $600 to get it replaced. I am very disappointed in LG products. I also have a LG fridge which is only four years old. My part was under warranty but the call and the Freon to fix it cost me $584. I will never buy LG products again and I will never recommend LG products.

Great washer with poor electronical panel

Large capacity loader does a decent job washing clothes. Ive had the control panel go out twice and have had to fix it both times. LG service repair is horrible so buyer beware on purchasing if you need to fix it you have to do all the work contacting someone scheduling service and following up. Ive had 3 scheduled repairs where the technician did not show up.

I called for service and the repair person informed me that the reason for the long spin cycle was due to the fact that we use more soap than needed. The washer must be unplugged and the power button held down for 15 seconds and the start button held down for 15 seconds before I can plug in and turn the machine on. Every single time Support just tells me its out of warranty. They are not helpful at all would not send me to a supervisor would not offer to send me the control panel replacement. Ill never buy LG again thats for sure.

We have had this for 2-1/2 years and have never been able for it to connect to WIFI or enable the smart feature. If you are buying because of these features save your money. A LG rep installed it in two different houses in 2 different States and has had the same issues.

We bought the matching washer and dryer because several retailers gave them high praise. We have had nothing but trouble with the washer. We have been told there is nothing wrong with it but we have never had a washer that clanked and sounded like a cat whining before. The extended warranty has been difficult to deal with and pretty much worthless at this point. We had to take our clothes to the laundromat at one point. So disappointed.

Worst repair experience ever

4 failed repairs 6/24/2023

My LG washer has not worked for 9 months. Despite 4 failed repairs LG continues to send repair companies. I have spent 30 hours on the phone with Costco Consierge. First it filled to the brim with water on every load. After 3 repairs they replaced the main board twice that was fixed. For the last month it skips the Rinse cycle it goes directly from washing to the final spin and I am left with a load of soapy clothes. There was been 1 failed repair already on this problem. They told me to expect a repairman last Wednesday. When I called the repair company for a time estimate he told me LG should not have told me he was coming. He gets his info from LG tech support and only comes when he has parts to replace. I saved myself a day of waiting at home by calling him but this is just a further example of the complete disregard LG has for their customers.

I have had this unit for 2 1/2 years and have had 4 service calls and the machine still does not a work on the delicate cycle despite the machine being disassembled and cleaned extensively. While it does a good job generally it fails to deliver all the features I paid for.

I am NOT HAPPY with my agitatorless washer If I had it to do over I would not make this purchase Who knew you could wash SO LITTLE and have it go out of balance I DO wrap it around the outside but seriously one Velux blanket 1 queen set of sheets and a small blanket sends my washer into a tizzy and Im sorry to say more often than not You wanted honesty well there you have it

I am completely obsessed with my new LG Smart Washer It washes my clothes quite well and is very quiet. I really like how it determines the size of the load all on its own so I know it is making the right choice. My husband has been complimenting me on how good the laundry has been smelling and I havent changed anything but getting my new LG Washing Machine I love the smart features the washer has and the fact that I can pretty much set it up to do whatever I would like with downloadable features too. It is also very helpful that the door opens two different ways one is handy for removing laundry and the other is so handy for just throwing one more thing in to dry Probably my favorite feature is the glass top so that I am able to see what is happening inside the machine. I have also never owned a washing machine without an agitator It works so well and I can fit so much more into it I also got the matching dryer I love how nice they look in my laundry room and feel like I am spoiled every time I get to go in there and play with my new toys
