King-Sized 160GB Hard Disk Drive
The built-in 160GB Hard Disk Drive lets you record tons of home movies and TV shows for temporary storage. Once they're recorded you can watch them whenever you want, edit them, delete them, or burn them to DVD. The DVR-633H-S, with its 160GB Hard Disk Drive, can hold up to an amazing 340 hours of content (at lowest video quality).
Super-High-Speed DVD Burning
When burning your recorded content to DVD from the Hard Disk Drive, an hour-long program recorded in SEP mode (lowest video quality) can take less than 30 seconds to burn - that's approximately 120x (max) speed.
Disc Backup
With Disc Backup, a Pioneer exclusive, you can make a direct file transfer of your home-movie DVD back to the Hard Disk Drive, and from that make as many copies of your home movie as you want, all at blazing speed.
Up to 10 Hours on a DVD
With the recording mode set to SEP mode (lowest video quality), you can get up to 10 hours on one disc.

i-LINK TM (DV) Camcorder Connection
The i-LINK (a.k.a. "DV" and "IEEE 1394") interface allows you to transfer your DV (Digital Video) home movies smoothly to the Hard Disk Drive. Just connect the DV input on the unit's front panel to your camcorder's DV input, and begin. And if your movies were shot in analog format, inputs for composite video/S-video and Left-Right audio are provided for dubbing them to DVD.
Jump Past the Commercials
SO, you recorded your favorite TV shows and you included the commercials. When you play your shows back, "Commercial Skip" lets you jump past the ads, 30 seconds at a time. Just press the CM Skip button on the remote.
Chase Play: Prime Time Starts Now
Thanks to the Hard Disk Drive, Chase Play lets you watch, stop, or pause a show - WHILE you're recording it. Amazing, but true.
Wide Playback Compatibility
Besides regular DVDs, you can play your homemade DVDs containing TV content or home movies. It also plays CDs and CD-R/RW discs with WMA and MP3 files, and its JPEG photo viewer is compatible with Fujifilm™ and Kodak ® discs and CD-R/RWs burned from your computer.
Built-in TV Tuner
A built-in TV tuner is included, so you don't have to connect to another component to receive a terrestrial TV signal.
Smart VBR (Variable Bit Recording)
This recording mode lets you choose the quality level/recording time that best suits you. Choose from Fine, SP, LP, EP, and Auto; Auto automatically sets the optimal recording quality for the time remaining on the Hard Disk Drive.
